Enabling student uploads for institutional Blackboard courses

To enable student uploads from within the LTI interface, the Institutional Administrator (IA) has to turn on this feature from the institutional profile menu item. (See the article View and Manage the Institutional Profile for details) Once the feature has been enabled, instructors will see a new "Course Settings" button that allows them to enable student uploads.

  • Once the "Allow students to upload media to this course" is checked, the students will get immediate access to upload media and PDF resources. Students can upload videos using the instructions provided under the Blackboard documentation section. Any content uploaded by the student will be deposited directly to the default LTI collection selected by the institution at the time of setup. 

  • When the student uploads a media or a PDF resource to the course, the creator/owner of the resource will be the user(s) that have an instructor role for the course.  Also, the uploaded resource is unlisted by default for all the students in the course. Only the instructor can make the uploaded resource available for the other course members. Student resources are denoted by the   icon in the course listing for the professor to easily differentiate between instructor and student uploaded content. Additionally media and PDF resources can be filtered by using the options provided on the NJVID  browser interface.
